Yamaha YCL-26II Clarinet
A tough, dependable student clarinet from Yamaha, made in Japan and a long-standing favourite with teachers and schools.
About this instrument
This one is currently in the Key Works workshop. Like every instrument we sell, it will be fully serviced, adjusted and regulated before it goes on sale, then play tested so we know it's ready to go straight from the case. More photos will be added here once it's finished.
The body is made from durable ABS resin, so it won't crack with changes in temperature or humidity the way a wooden clarinet can, which makes it ideal for school bags, band rehearsals and outdoor playing. It has the standard 17-key, 6-ring Boehm system found on professional clarinets, so everything learned on it carries straight over when it's time to step up. The keywork is nickel-plated and comfortably shaped for smaller hands, and Yamaha's careful bore design gives a warm, even tone with secure intonation across the registers.
