Woodwind repair and second hand sales, Corfe Mullen, Dorset

Key Works is a woodwind repair workshop in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, run by Jonathan with support from his wife Emily. We service and repair flutes, clarinets and saxophones, and sell serviced second hand instruments that are ready to play from day one.

Meet Jonathan and Emily

Jonathan

Owner, founder and technician

I hold a BSc from the Open University and come from an engineering background, with experience as a bicycle mechanic. That mix of precision and hands-on problem solving is what I bring to every repair.

I trained under industry masters Trevor Head and Lynne Williams, and I'm a member of NAMIR. As a brass player (trombone, euphonium and tuba), I understand what an instrument needs to feel and sound like for the person playing it.

Emily

Quality control

Emily is a professional freelance saxophonist, and she manages quality control for the workshop.

She personally play tests and advises on every single instrument before it leaves the workshop, so you get a player's verdict as well as a technician's.

Emily is also a woodwind teacher, teaching flute, clarinet and saxophone (as well as piano and music theory) both from home and in local schools. She knows what students, parents and teachers need from an instrument, which is why she's so particular about what we sell.

How we work
